The guys behind the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 have given us an exciting update regarding the game’s development.
According to CD Projekt Red, who were also behind the brilliant Witcher series, Cyberpunk is now playable from start to finish. Although, we bet it’s still far, far away from it’s final state.
This news was revealed during an interview with Engadget, but what else was shared about the game? “It gives you the answers to all of your doubts,” said producer Richard Borzymowski. “It just feels great.
“We don’t want to tell a story about rescuing the world. We don’t want to basically destroy the system. … It’s not just another part in this cyberpunk-industry cliche machine.”
Cyberpunk 2077 has been in development for the best part of six years, and the first-person RPG is set to explore a futuristic California where the human race is experimenting with trans-humanism.
Full frontal nudity will feature during character selections and cut-scenes – something that made the E3 2018 crowd awkwardly giggle about – which director Adam Badowski says is crucial if the game wants to be “more believable.”
Speaking of E3, the 2013 event was the first time we saw any material relating to this game. A highly detailed, slow motion cinematic was enough to peak our interest back then and we haven’t stopped thinking about this game ever since.
We haven’t got a clear release date for Cyberpunk 2077 but there’s an effort to have it finished for current-gen consoles. However, it’s likely that we’ll see Projekt Red wait until the PS5 and Xbox Two (or whatever Microsoft call it) launch – which could be another two years.
Are you excited for this game? We know that we can’t wait to get our mohawk on – yes, mohawks are cool in this universe.
